Behind The Scenes Q&A with Lychee Style

I was nominated by Adelina Perrin from The Charming Olive to write this Blogging Life Behind the Scenes (BTS) post! Read about Adelina's inspiring blogging journey here

My journey as a blogger began in 2013 when I started posting my Outfit Of The Day (OOTD) on LOOKBOOK.nu. Ever since I was in high school, I looked to the LOOKBOOK.nu community for outfit and creative inspiration. From there, I decided to launch the blog, Lychee Style as a photo journal for my daily outfits. My first-ever brand collaboration was with Charlotte Russe, and happened soon after I launched the blog. Blogging was just a creative outlet for me, and something I did when I had free time during holiday breaks from school. It wasn't until the beginning of this year in 2016 that I decided to ditch my 9-5 and become a full-time blogger. It's been an amazing journey since the beginning, and I've made so many new friends, and have worked with tons of amazing brands. If you haven't already, please be sure to stop by my Instagram page and add me on Snapchat: lychee_style for some real-time fun!

And now, for the Q&A...

Where do you blog?
I normally blog at home while staring at my iMac computer–the large screen helps to speed up the blogging production process which involves linking images, text, and preparing content for all social platforms.

Where do you find inspiration for your posts?
Instagram and Pinterest for sure! I have tons of Pinterest boards with images I've found from all over the Internet. I'm a visual person, so whenever I see something that inspires me, I immediately save it to my inspiration boards. I also have a huge archive of screenshots and inspiration photos organized on my iPhone's camera roll.

How long does it take you to do a blog post?
Typically, 1-2 hours.

Do you plan your blog posts? If so, how?
Yes, I make sure to coordinate and schedule posts with the brands that I work with. This includes making sure the blog post is published at the same time content goes live on the social feeds.

What kind of camera do you use?
I use a Canon 6D. It has its quirks, but it works!

What editing programs do you use?
On my phone, I rely on VSCO, Afterlight, Snapseed, or whatever is the most popular photo editing tool at the moment.

Do you use a notebook to track your ideas?
I track all my ideas using lists, and I'm addicted to Wunderlist. In fact, I'm even using it to draft this post right now!

Do you take your pictures?
Yes, I do. I use a tripod and self-timer. Couldn't be a blogger without these tools!

What's your favorite type of blog post to write?
I enjoy doing product review posts, because I love trying new things. I just recently did one featuring Bobbi Brown cosmetics, and I hope to do more review posts in the near future!

Who knows about your blog?
I actually never used to tell anyone that I had a blog! It was my secret obsession and creative outlet apart from school and work. I felt strange telling people about it for some reason, so I didn't. But somehow, people found out about it anyway.

Are you an organized or messy blogger?
I'd say, both! My thoughts are messy and random, but luckily I'm able to quickly organize some of my thoughts using lists. I make a daily schedule to plan out each hour of my day, so that helps to keep my mind focused while accomplishing tasks. Although I naturally have a bunch of messy, disconnected thoughts and ideas floating throughout my head, I'm somehow able to to keep everything around me clean and organized.

Thanks for reading this Q&A. Hope you enjoyed it! I nominate Jenna Colgrove from Visions of Vogue next for the blogger BTS challenge!
